Paramedic Program Holds Coin Ceremony
The Delaware Tech paramedic program held a coin ceremony on Jan. 25, 2024, to celebrate and acknowledge students from Paramedic Classes 28 and 29. The coin ceremony is the culmination of the students’ educational journey at the College, which encompasses 2,000 hours of education and training in both the classroom and simulation lab, clinical rotations, and a field internship. Each student also passed the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians paramedic exam.

Delaware Technical Community College is proud to recognize the students who achieved academic excellence during 2023 and were named to the College's President's List or Dean's List. This list was created as of January 17, 2024, and any grade changes that would impact academic excellence after that date will not be reflected.

Chip and Tracy Rossi Named Honorary Chairs of Delaware Tech's 20th Anniversary Mardi Gras Gala
Delaware Technical Community College is pleased to announce Chip Rossi, president of Bank of America Delaware, and his wife Tracy as honorary chairs of the 20th Anniversary Mardi Gras Gala, hosted by the Stanton and Wilmington campuses.

Culinary Arts Program Launches Thanksgiving Project
In response to some self-reflection, Chef Joe Sakers made the decision to use his experience and talents in the kitchen to create and support a food-focused community service event. The result was the creation of the Thanksgiving Project, which resulted in nearly 30 local families receiving fully prepared Thanksgiving meals that were delivered the morning of the holiday.

Delaware Tech Partners with Croda Inc. to Purchase New Training Equipment for Chemical Process Operator Program
Students in Delaware Technical Community College’s chemical process operator program will now be able to practice critical industry safety procedures at the Stanton Campus thanks to a generous donation from Croda, Inc.

Delaware Tech Receives $200,000 Neighborhood Builders® Award from Bank of America
Delaware Technical Community College is one of two state winners of Bank of America’s 2023 Neighborhood Builders® award, which includes grant funding of $200,000 over two years, as well as workforce development leadership training.

Delaware Tech Earns Six Awards from National Council for Marketing and Public Relations
Delaware Technical Community College earned six 2023 Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR), which recognizes outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges in each of NCMPR's seven districts. The regional competition is exclusive to marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges. Winners were announced in November.

Two College Employees Honored with DAWN Awards
Delaware Tech employees Cornelia Johnson and Christine Wilborne were recognized by the Delaware ACE Women's Network (DAWN) during DAWN’s Oct. 26, 2023, awards ceremony. Johnson, college vice president and Terry Campus director, received the 2023 DAWN Leadership Award and Wilborne, an academic counselor on the College’s Stanton Campus, was named a DAWN Rising Star Award honoree.

Delaware Tech Cross Country Runners Claim Region Titles
Delaware Technical Community College’s men’s cross country team claimed the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 Division II Men’s Championship at the 2023 NJCAA Region 19 Championship Meet on Oct. 28 in Lancaster, Pa, and freshmen Brayden Fosty and Hannah Lensico won the individual men’s and women’s titles as well.

Delaware Tech Volleyball Players Earn 2023 All-Conference Honors
Delaware Technical Community College women’s volleyball players Megan Carroll and Ashley Kelly earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) All-Conference honors for the 2023 season.

Three Students Receive Scholarships from atTAcK addiction
Delaware Tech students Amanda Chen, Justin McNatt, and Jenn Tribbett, were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship from atTAcK addiction during the organization’s gala on October 19, 2023. The trio was selected based upon 500-word essays they submitted that explained how they have had an impact or will impact the fight against substance use disorder within their community or school.

Terry Campus Holds 20th Annual Gourmet Gala
The Delaware Tech Terry Campus celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Gourmet Gala on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, with “An Evening in the Amalfi Coast” affair that entertained more than 200 guests.

The Honorable Jacob Day, secretary of Maryland Housing and Community Development, was the keynote speaker.

Chemistry Will Key Success for Young Men's Basketball Team
Delaware Tech’s men’s basketball team features a host of new faces for the 2023-2024 season, and head coach Richard Rago said how quickly they come together will dictate how much winning this year’s team will be able to do.

Students Experience Real-World Media Production During Coast TV Studios Visit
Students in the communications program at Delaware Technical Community College recently received a behind-the-scenes tour of Coast TV (WRDE) studios in Milton. Journalist Britt Leoni and Meteorologist Jeanette Gallardo led the tour, which allowed students to watch media production in action and gain insights into the industry.

Ron & Beth Baron Named Honorary Chairs of Terry Campus Gourmet Gala
Ron and Beth Baron have been named honorary chairs of the Delaware Tech Terry Campus Gourmet Gala taking place Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 6-10 p.m. in the on-campus Del-One Conference Center. Ron is president & CEO of Del-One Federal Credit Union and Beth has been a social worker for nearly three decades.

The 2023 Hometown Heroes 5k Run/1 Mile Walk held Sept. 20 Rockford Park in Wilmington, raised over $11,000 for Delaware Technical Community College student scholarships.

Delaware Tech’s Annual Hometown Heroes 5K Raises Funds for Student Scholarships
More than 300 runners and walkers joined Delaware Technical Community College employees, students, and volunteers on Sept. 20 for the annual Hometown Heroes 5k Run/1 Mile Walk hosted by the College’s Stanton and Wilmington campuses. This year’s race raised over $11,000 for student scholarships.

Delaware Tech's Annual Run, White & Blue 5k Raises More than $20,000 for Scholarships
More than 400 runners and walkers participated in the 10th annual Run, White & Blue 5K run and 1-Mile walk on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus in Georgetown. This year’s event raised over $22,000, which will go toward scholarships for veterans and first responders.

Terry Campus Central Delaware Economic Summit Addresses Artificial Intelligence
The 15th annual Central Delaware Economic Summit, held Sept. 19, 2023, on the Delaware Tech Terry Campus in Dover, focused on the topic of artificial intelligence. The summit featured a keynote address by James Collins, public sector leader for the Americas at Microsoft, and a moderated chat with Collins and three other business and industry professionals utilizing AI in day-to-day operations.

Two new faces are on the sideline for Delaware Tech’s women’s volleyball program this season, as Erin Carney and Morgan Donahue have joined the coaching staff as assistant coaches.
